Welcome!

Welcome to IRMC Park's blogger.
This blog was created in part for our Applied Anthropology class at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. For our class we have been working in groups to make a website of collective blogs for the Appalachian Teaching Project (ATP Project).
For this project myself and Tara Federoff have been researching the history of the North 7th street area, including the Vinegar Hill Steps. It has been very exciting to see the rapid changes in the area over the past few months due to the construction of the new park area and the renewal of the Steps.

To start this blog off we will be posting about several things related to the current IRMC Park area, including:
  • Past history related to the area
  • Some before and after photos (including those we currently have from the construction phases)
  • Information about the partnership that was formed to implement the project
  • Quotes gathered from interviewing community members
  • and possibly some information about local businesses

Our hopes for the future are to include postings about upcoming events that will be taking place in the IRMC park area such as the It's a Wonderful Life Festival. Also we would like to add some videos and more pictures. Lastly we hope that community residents and students can also add to our blog, through comments and posts.

If anyone would like to become an author for this blog please contact either Tara or myself.

Thank you!
